Routines

Routines are recurring tasks that Aori runs automatically without being asked. They are the engine behind Aori’s proactivity, enabling it to send you morning summaries, daily news digests, weekly reviews, or end-of-day task reminders.

  1. Open the Routines tab in the Aori app.
  2. Tap the + button to add a new routine.
  3. Describe your routine in plain language (e.g., “Every weekday at 8 am, send me a briefing of my day.”)
  4. Aori will interpret your description and show you what it understood.
  5. Review and Confirm to save the routine.

You can adapt these examples for your own needs:

  • Morning Briefing: “Every weekday at 8am, send me a summary of my calendar for today and any unread emails I should know about.”
  • Daily News Digest: “Every day at 9am, search for news about AI and agentic software and send me a 5-bullet summary.”
  • End-of-day Wrap: “Every weekday at 6pm, remind me to update my to-do list and summarize what I completed today.”
  • Weekly Review: “Every Friday at 5pm, summarize the follow-ups and reminders we handled this week.”
  • Health Reminder: “Every day at 3pm, remind me to drink water and take a 5-minute screen break.”

To modify a routine, go to the Routines tab and tap on the routine you wish to change. You can edit the description or delete the routine entirely. Changes take effect immediately.

Routines are delivered via your active messaging channel (Telegram or WhatsApp). If no channel is connected, Aori will send a push notification to your device.

  • Routine not firing: Ensure Aori’s background service is running. On Android, battery optimization must be disabled for Aori.
  • Incorrect output: If a routine isn’t giving you what you want, try making the description more specific.
