Step-by-Step Setup

Go to platform.openai.com and create an account.
Once logged in, go to the API Keys section (usually at platform.openai.com/api-keys).
Click the Create new secret key button.
Copy the key immediately.

Important: Even with free credits, OpenAI requires you to add a payment method to activate your API access. Go to platform.openai.com/account/billing and set up a payment method.

How to Enter Your Key in Aori

Open Aori on your device.
Go to Settings → Connections → LLM Provider.
Select OpenAI from the list of providers.
Paste your API key.
Tap Save or Connect.

Model Options

GPT-5.x family of models (Flagship): The latest and most capable models. This is the default choice for Aori users who want the best performance.
GPT-4o (popular model) / GPT-4o mini: These models remain available and are excellent, more cost-efficient alternatives for simpler, everyday tasks.

Vision Note

If you attach images to your messages in Aori, the GPT-5.x family of models will automatically be able to see and describe them. This is great for tasks like “Aori, what is this receipt for?” or “Can you summarize this graph?”
