Quick Start
Ready to get Aori running? Let’s go.
Step 1: Download and Install
Section titled “Step 1: Download and Install”Download the Apple Silicon or Intel `.dmg` from the [download page](/download), open it, and drag Aori to your Applications folder. If macOS blocks first launch, verify the release page before allowing the app in Privacy & Security.Windows
Section titled “Windows”Download the Windows installer from the [download page](/download). Run the installer. If SmartScreen appears for a new release, verify the release page before continuing.Download the `.deb` package for Debian/Ubuntu-based distributions, or the AppImage for a portable build. For AppImage, make it executable with `chmod +x` before running it.Android
Section titled “Android”Download the APK from the [download page](/download) or use the Google Play link. If sideloading, enable **Install from unknown sources** in your settings.Step 2: Add Your LLM Provider
Section titled “Step 2: Add Your LLM Provider”Open Aori for the first time. It will guide you through the initial setup, or you can do it manually:
- Open Settings (gear icon).
- Navigate to AI Models.
- Select your provider (e.g., Groq, OpenAI, Anthropic).
- Paste your API key and save.
Step 3: Send Your First Message
Section titled “Step 3: Send Your First Message”Now that Aori has a “brain,” you can start talking to it:
- Switch to the Chat tab.
- Type a message, like “Hello! Who are you and what can you do?”
- Aori will introduce itself and explain how its memory and tools work.
Step 4 (Optional): Connect a Channel
Section titled “Step 4 (Optional): Connect a Channel”Want to talk to Aori through Telegram or WhatsApp instead of using the Aori app interface?
- Go to Settings → Connections → Channels.
- Follow the setup guide for Telegram or WhatsApp.

Step 5 (Optional): Set Up a Routine
Section titled “Step 5 (Optional): Set Up a Routine”Let’s make Aori proactive. You can ask it to do things on a schedule:
- Open the Routines tab.
- Describe what you want in plain language (e.g., “Every weekday at 8:00 AM, send me a briefing of my day.”)
- Aori will interpret your request and confirm.
