Quick Start

Ready to get Aori running? Let’s go.

Download the Apple Silicon or Intel `.dmg` from the [download page](/download), open it, and drag Aori to your Applications folder. If macOS blocks first launch, verify the release page before allowing the app in Privacy & Security.
Download the Windows installer from the [download page](/download). Run the installer. If SmartScreen appears for a new release, verify the release page before continuing.
Download the `.deb` package for Debian/Ubuntu-based distributions, or the AppImage for a portable build. For AppImage, make it executable with `chmod +x` before running it.
Download the APK from the [download page](/download) or use the Google Play link. If sideloading, enable **Install from unknown sources** in your settings.

Open Aori for the first time. It will guide you through the initial setup, or you can do it manually:

  1. Open Settings (gear icon).
  2. Navigate to AI Models.
  3. Select your provider (e.g., Groq, OpenAI, Anthropic).
  4. Paste your API key and save.

Now that Aori has a “brain,” you can start talking to it:

  1. Switch to the Chat tab.
  2. Type a message, like “Hello! Who are you and what can you do?”
  3. Aori will introduce itself and explain how its memory and tools work.

Want to talk to Aori through Telegram or WhatsApp instead of using the Aori app interface?

  1. Go to SettingsConnectionsChannels.
  2. Follow the setup guide for Telegram or WhatsApp.
  3. See the full Channels guide →

Let’s make Aori proactive. You can ask it to do things on a schedule:

  1. Open the Routines tab.
  2. Describe what you want in plain language (e.g., “Every weekday at 8:00 AM, send me a briefing of my day.”)
  3. Aori will interpret your request and confirm.
  4. See the full Routines guide →

You’re all set!
